| Earth has been around for millions of years and has things that we could not live without (grass and flowers ect.) And what do we do? We drop litter and polute the air with smoke. The trees get us air and we just chop them down and leave the animals that live there instead of there forrest, millions of tree stumps. Please listen to me here...
WE ARE KILLING THE WORLD
What will we do then when this plannet becomes so inhabitle that we all die eh? Will you regret that you just didn't put that one coke bottle in the bin? Well will you?
We still have a chance to keep this world clean and healthy so please , please take theese words to meaning and do what ever you can to...
SAVE OUR WORLD! | |

| I wouldn't be surprised if half the world's litter came from my pack lunch. On a serious note: Yeah, if we carry on like this then the world will eventually become unable to cope, the government needs to really crack down on litter. | |

| And that's why we plan on inhabiting a new planet sometime in the future! Dropping litter isn't exactly going to prevent environmental damage completely, it's one of the smallest factors causing pollution. Even if there was absolutely no-one dropping litter, we would still have a problem due to things like industrial practice, which would be impossible to get rid of entirely. | |

| Yes, but at least with litter there's something that can be done to stop it. Like making more bins and enforcing fines for dropping litter. | |

| Making more bins would mean using up more of the earth's resources, such as oil. Making a bin in itself would just cause more pollution to be emitted into the atmosphere. Think about it, you need several things in order to make these bins: A power plant, employers, employees, resources and transport; these will all cost both time and money to obtain, we do not need to spend money on something that is pointless and would not make a significant difference to the world. We already have enough bins around everywhere, it's just a case of whether people can be bothered to walk that little way towards to the bin to dispose of their rubbish in the rightful manner.
Also, how will you fine people for dropping litter? Would you have to hire people to patrol the area and check for people who drop litter? Would you set up security cameras to watch and identify people who drop litter? You just cannot be watching people 24/7 to ensure that a fine is given for someone dropping litter, it doesn't make sense.

| If they're not prepared to make more bins then at least put the bins that they have in effective places, I've seen busy streets with about one or two bins in and a deserted grassland with about five.
At the moment people can get away easily for dropping litter, up the amount of camera's in selected areas. Don't be stupid, of course I don't expect areas to be watched 24/7; however at the moment there's hardly anything stopping people from littering - I could walk to the shops and back while dropping motherloads of litter and nobody would say anything about it.

| Actually, if someone saw you drop it, they would most likely tell you to pick it up again. | |

| And, may i add, its not just about dropping litter, it is lso due to to putting to many unburned hydrocarbons in the air and simple things such as just leaving on lights can be harmful to the earth. We are getting better, however, still need to continue our efforts in order to keep his planet clean. | |

| There's nothing we can do to prevent it. The truth is, the industrial age put a massive strain on the environment. So much so that the effects will eventually destroy the O-zone. All of our efforts will simply delay the inevitable. | |

We've already found other planets to live on with suitable atmospheres and living conditions.

| Yeah, if. First of all, it's very unlikely that we won't develop sustainable resources and clear up our emissions, and even if we did and moved to another planet, it would literally take thousands upon thousands of years to wreck if we weren't taking care of it. | |
